I’m Glad You’re Here

The moment the path to my purposeful life emerged was also the moment I realized everything had fallen apart. It was a rainy day and I was on my way home from the grocery store, sitting at a stop sign, temporarily mesmerized by the swish of the windshield wipers. I found myself thinking “is this all there is to life?” This life, in my case, was a job I loved but that no longer fit me, a marriage that was respectful but not fulfilling, a home that I couldn’t get comfortable in. In other words, I found myself in the wrong life.

My approach to life is an outcome of waking up in the wrong life and finding my way back…well, not exactly back, but to me. I believe in being authentic and true to yourself, but with that usually comes change. Since that moment, I have been on a journey (and certainly not a linear or smooth one!) to build a values-driven, authentic, growth-oriented life. Today, I strive to first uncover and then to be my authentic self -- for me it’s a continuous process. My vision is to help people live better lives and my mission is to engage with people so that they are glad for having known me. This is true whether it's an individual, a team, or an organization.

A more recent part of my journey has been to better understand whiteness, bias, and privilege. For the past 10 years, I have had the opportunity to work with leaders and organizations across the globe to develop their ability to be more inclusive. This journey has been a humbling one, as I have had to learn about my role in perpetuating inequity. I have had to grapple with not having the impact I intended with those who were different than me, despite good intentions. And I have caused pain. It gives me hope that there are so many champions of diversity, equity and inclusion supporting those who strive for a more just and equitable world. As one of many voices, I commit to putting in the work and being continuously better. I can't support others unless I have done it for myself.

My intention to create spaces where others can show up and feel safe to explore their own authenticity, find their agency, and fundamentally live their stoked lives.

I bring my experiences in life, career, relationships to my work and meet my clients where they are in their lives -- many describe a sense that they know they want something to change, but don’t know how to start. Together we find clarity and identify a path forward that is authentic and intentional. From there, my clients can step toward the life they were intending to live.

For organizations, it's not much different. The leaders sense they know they want something to change, but don't know how to start…or even what to change. Together, as a team, we find clarity and alignment through culture work and identify a path forward to create a change that is meaningful and lasting. From there, my organizational clients can step forward on a solid foundation of culture, leveraging the brilliance that is in their organization, with the confidence they can navigate anything that comes their way.
